Featuring a 14-inch diagonal HD LED-Backlit widescreen display, the TECRA R840 is the ideal all-around mobile business laptop. At about 25 percent thinner and 20 percent lighter than its predecessor, the TECRA M11, the TECRA R840 is the thinnest 14-inch TECRA laptop ever made.

The performance packed laptop is also equipped with the 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i5 processors and high-speed 7200 RPM hard drives, delivering the maximum performance when you need it the most. Visual experience is further enhanced with the AMD Radeon™ discrete graphics with 1GB of dedicated graphics* which is powerful enough to let you display up to four screens at once.

Enhanced Durability, Security and Style
The TECRA R840 notebooks are built using a unique High reinforced casing together with chassis pillars embedded into the laptop's interior, making the system highly robust against flexing and thereby considerably prolonging the products' lifetimes.

During extensive HALT1 testing conducted by the independent German test institute TÜV Rheinland, the TECRA R840 series could prove their high durability: They were able to withstand drops from a 76cm height, sustained a load of 100kg on the LCD lid, and were resistant against spills up to a volume of 30ml on the keyboard without impact on the data stored on the device.

Equipped with Toshiba's EasyGuard® Technology to help protect against accidental spills and bumps, the laptops are also designed with a suite of security features, including multiple level passwords and a fingerprint reader to help thwart unwanted access, and an optional Trusted Platform Module to offer high-level data encryption.

The new TECRA R840 notebooks also boast a stylish, textured Line Pattern finish in Graphite Black and a premium raised tile keyboard that is spill resistant with a large TouchPad or Accupoint pointing devices

TECRA R840 series give users what they need
The TECRA R840 notebooks easily connect to the world with a broad range of standard ports including high-speed USB 3.0 port, eSATA/USB Combo with Toshiba's USB Sleep & Charge technology, DisplayPort™ or HDMI®, Bluetooth® 3.0+EDR, ExpressCard and Gigabit Ethernet. Connectivity can even be expanded through the optional docking station with additional ports and interfaces.

To enhance customer usability and enable quicker boot up time on the notebook, the new TECRA R840 series comes integrate with Toshiba's new and unique "Panel Open - Power On" feature, which allows users to boot up the laptop simply by lifting up the display panel when it is shut down or in sleep or hibernate mode.
