Technology made to differentiate
An ‘Airflow Cooling’ system, co-developed by Intel® and Toshiba, in the R830 allowing Toshiba to integrate the latest Intel® Core™ family processors even in the device’s slim casing while keeping the fan noise to a minimum. An ingeniously designed ventilation duct in combination with a cleverly arranged circuit board layout optimizes heat removal.
Honeycomb Structure Features
The thin and lightweight design doesn’t compromise on durability. The casing’s honeycomb structure in some of the casings areas of PORTÉGÉ R830 series makes it highly robust against flexing, thereby considerably prolongs the products’ lifetime. Also, protection of the electronic and mechanical components is supported by a highly resistant magnesium alloy casing.
Panel Open - Power On feature
To enhance customer usability and enable quicker boot up time on the notebook, the new PORTÉGÉ R830 comes integrated with Toshiba's new and unique "Panel Open - Power On" feature, which allows users to boot up the notebook simply by flipping up the display panel when it is shut down or in sleep or hibernate mode.

Easy Connectivity and Usability
PORTÉGÉ R830 series come with a high-speed USB 3.0 port allowing data rates of up to 5GB. This allows back-ups of data-demanding files such as videos, high-quality photos or large music libraries on a USB 3.0 compatible storage device which now can be done quickly within minutes.
